Starting today, I am going to be posting updates on the progress of my novel every Friday. This post covers my latest progress as well my intentions for the book. If you haven’t read the first chapter of Black Magnolias yet, and you’d like to, you can find it here.
Today, I’m proud to say as of 11 pm I have 14,745 words written. That’s fifty-two pages. I’m currently working on the final scene in chapter five, and should be done with it by next Friday, as well as chapter six if I continue writing at the pace I’ve been going.
I estimate the first draft will be finished and ready to begin editing within the next six months. Hopefully, if the process goes smoothly the book should be ready for launch shortly after. That all must sound a bit vague, but as of right now, I do not have a set deadline. Only that I want to have my first book available as an ebook, print copy (paper and hardback), and audio book before next year.
I intend to self-publish. My goal as an indie author is only to add some adventure and romance into your lives through my stories, and maybe make enough to pay the water bill every month. If you’re reading this, I hope you continue this journey with me as I navigate made up worlds and the corporate city of publishing.
If there are any self-published authors out there I would love to hear from you. Just drop a comment below or send me an email.
